As 2025 draws to a close, one festival in Antique Province is proving that culture and community can be powerful drivers of tourism and local economic growth. Over the past month, the province’s annual Binirayan Festival has not only delighted visitors with performances and heritage events but also generated significant impact for local businesses, accommodations, artisans and residents alike.

A Festival Rooted in History & Identity

The Binirayan Festival is a long-running cultural celebration in Antique that honors the rich heritage and historical roots of the Antiqueños. Traditionally held each December, it commemorates the legendary arrival of Malay settlers—symbolizing the province’s ancient links to migration, community and shared identity.

Throughout the month, the festival featured a vibrant mix of traditional parades, street dances, art exhibits, cultural presentations and reenactments, culminating in a high-energy celebration that drew both Filipinos from around the country and international visitors. 

Tourism Surge & Economic Gains

• According to tourism officials, this year’s Binirayan Festival significantly boosted Antique’s tourism sector. Hotels, guesthouses, and resorts reported being fully booked throughout the festival period—an indication of strong visitor demand.
